- Howdy;
-
- I'm borrowing a Syquest 88 meg drive, and have a stack of 44 meg and 88
- meg disks I can use temporarily.
-
- I have a 270 meg Quantum HD I'd like to back up, and then move it to a
- DataFlyer controller, instead of the GVP series II it's on. I can then
- put in accel boards, etc. that are not currently working happily with the
- Series II.
-
- I have Quarterback, v. 5.x, which I like, but it had problems when I
- wanted to use both low and HD floppy disks- saying that media used must
- be of same size...( Do I need to say I've got a HD floppy drive?).
- Will it enforce this requirement on other media types?
-
- What freebie SW is reliable, verifies what it's writing ( I CAN'T lose
- the contents of this drive, and am not going to back up the thing to
- floppy- maybe just the system partition and BBS, etc at most as that
- would take forever), and would work with variable sized media? I could
- format the drives, and copy pieces by hand onto them with DirOpus or SID or
- something, but would rather not. I've not heard much good about the
- HDbackup SW that comes w/ 2.1.... anyone care to comment on it?
-
- My setup:
- currently using A2000/2.1/GVPseriesII/Quantum SCSI 270 HD/6 megs RAM.
- Would be using a DataFlyerII SCSI controller to replace the contents onto the
- newly formatted HD. If the two controllers would be able to read each
- others work, and I don't need to do this backup/format on
- new controller/replace thing, just kick me and then tell me, then kick
- me again.
-
- PLEASE PLEASE: if you have comments, email me as well as (or instead of)
- posting; we have a 4 day delay getting feed in, and it really is a pain.
- I'd like to to the controller switch ASAP. thanks! I'll summarize/forward
- to anyone interested.
